META - OBJECT - LINKS
|

|
Metadata is usually described as information about information. We use a technique invented by Adobe that they call XMP as it is based on the XML-technology. This way metadata can be stored in picture- and document files about the same way as you write a postcard. When you move such a file in your computer, over Internet or as e-mail the metadata will follow automatically. With the weSee method we have taken a new step by defining objects in a picture or a document. It can be a picture a picture of a school class. You can surround every student with an ellipse or rectangle and it becomes an object in the picture. To every object can add information and link them to objects in other files. The other picture can be for example a map and objects can be houses on that map. That way you can link together thousands of pictures and objects describing a situation. It can be pictures from a wedding which is an event I two peoples life. With weSee you can link this families together with other people in a way forming a family tree. The links can reach other objects worldwide over Internet. Those objects can by turns have other links that can be followed. Patent application for the weSee method is pending and the method will, in due time, make it possible to link objects together in a way which is not possible with traditional technique. You can link to all kind of files supported by Quicktime, but you can make links only from TIF-, JPEG- and PDF-files. A special feature is that you can link to and from folders as if they are files. This is very useful for events and people where you have many pictures. Instead of making links to every picture you can link to and from the folder instead. Examples of where the method can be useful is for example: - Police work with accidents and crime. Pictures and maps can describe the situation from different angles and link objects together with analyses and individuals. Different documents such as pictures, drawings, depositions, which can be sound recordings and analyses, can be linked together in a useful survey. - Archaeological research. In a map or aerial view you can identify X- Y- and Z- coordinates for every object. - Identifying and describing objects in X-ray pictures. - Companies can describe the company organisation and their products. For example switchgear can be structured from the truck where it is an integral part all the way down to its smallest parts. - Tourist information and trade and industry can be described interactively in a way that is not possible with traditional HTML-technique. The fact that the weSee method does not use expensive databases nor difficult HTML and JAVA gives undreamt-of possibilities. Only your fantasy sets the limit of the use.
